Sloan-Hendrix Celebrates FFA Week
FFA Week took place at Sloan-Hendrix during the week of February 24-28. Special activities included the following: Monday- Farmer Day & Hay Bale Toss; Tuesday- Redneck vs. Western Day & Obstacle Course; Wednesday- Blue & Gold Day; Thursday- Camo Day & Duck/Turkey Call Contest; Friday- FFA Jacket/Green & Green Hand Ceremony. In addition, students could pay $1 per day to wear a cap. The participation among the elementary student's was especially appreciated by the FFA members. The week's activities culminated with the traditional FFA Cookout on Friday.
OM Heads to State
Congratulations to Ms. Stephens and the High School Odyssey of the Mind Team, who received third place in Regionals held at Pocahontas on Saturday, February 29. In addition, they received one of only two OMER Awards, which recognizes individuals or teams who demonstrate exemplary behavior and perseverance. The team consists of Erin Smith, Kaylee Hoffman, Alayna Farmer, Rebecca Simington, Emily Tidwell, Amy Tidwell, and Sarah Scales. The team's coach is Alissa Lee. The team will compete in State competition on April 4.

Conference and District Champions - 31-2 season record
and five players received All-Conference Honors!!!
The Sloan-Hendrix Junior Greyhounds have had an outstanding season finishing 31-2 as 2A-3 Conference Champions with four tournament wins: the Bill McCurley Junior Tournament, Hillcrest Junior Tournament, Lawrence County Tournament, and the District 2A-3 Tournament. Five players received All-Conference Honors: Braden Cox, Luke Murphy, Harper Rorex, Cade Grisham, and Ethan Lee. MVP honors for the Lawrence County Tournament went to Braden Cox and Cade Grisham. Team coach is Daniel Bates.

Lawrence County Tournament Champions
7th Grade Boys
7th grade boys defeated Walnut Ridge to win the Lawrence County Tournament on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Karson Roark was the Farm Bureau Most Valuable Player of the 7th grade tournament!
Junior High Boys
The Junior High boys defeated Hillcrest to claim the championship. Farm Bureau Most Valuable Players were Cade Grisham and Braden Cox.
